Gottlieb Samuel FUHRMANN was born on 24 January 1819  in Obornik (Obornicki, Poland) Prov. Posen, South Prussia as a son of  Johann Benjamin Fuhrmann and Anna Louisa Peterson.
He died in September 1888 in Town Jackson, Washington County, Wisconsin.

He emigrated in 1843 as an “Old Lutheran” from Prussia to prevent from the persecution of the Prussian administration after the compulsory merger of the reformed churches to the Unitary Church, which the Old Lutherans didn’t merge. So the family of his later wife did, too.

He came to the States in 1844 via New York to Town Jackson in the “Territory of Wisconsin”, what became later the State of Wisconsin.

Gottlieb was married on 13 November 1845 in the David-Star-Church of Town Jackson to Friedericke Louise Henrietta Heckendorf from Schwantus, county Wollin in Pommerania, daughter of Christian Friedrich Hoeckendorf and Anna Maria Knoll.

The Hoeckendorf family asked (together with the whole Old Lutheran community of Schwantus) for emigration  ( the pastor of the community asked for the permit for his communitymembers) in 1838 for 3 families and they got the permit in 1839 and they left Prussia abt. 1840-1842.

 Gottlieb and Friedricke had 7 children ( 4 girls and 3 boys) but till now we could not discover all descendants of them.

Marie Louise Henriette was married in 1868 to Christian Beutell from Polkow in Mecklemburg-Schwerin.

Elisabeth K. was married in 1875 to Peter C.Peterson from Norway

Gustavus was a blacksmith and died in Feb 1907 in Burlington, Iowa. It is not known if he was married or had children.
